Spire Hospitality has launched a new Strategic Asset Performance division designed to align financial strategy, business intelligence, technology, artificial intelligence and hotel resources around a shared focus on hotel and portfolio performance. The division is designed to connect financial and operating intelligence more directly with property-level decision-making, forming a single, data-driven model that pairs that insight with experienced hotel leadership to protect and enhance asset value for owners.
The company also promoted Shozib Khan to senior vice president of strategic asset performance. In the newly expanded role, Khan will oversee information technology, hotel resources and transitions, brand resources, financial planning and hotel systems. He also will lead Spire Hospitality’s AI and enterprise automation strategy while serving as a direct partner to ownership groups on hotel performance initiatives.
The new division was created to help connect financial and operating intelligence more closely with property-level decision-making. By bringing together data-driven insights and experienced hotel leadership, Spire aims to identify opportunities and challenges earlier and execute solutions more effectively across its portfolio.
“Owners expect their management partners to do more than explain performance after the fact,” Spire CEO Richard Sandoval said in a statement. “We need to see opportunities sooner and have the structure to act on them. Strategic Asset Performance creates that accountability, giving our teams a clearer path from what we’re seeing across the portfolio to actions that improve performance and strengthen asset value.”
Sandoval that Khan’s leadership and impact across the organization made him the right choice to lead the new division.
Strategic Asset Performance will focus on developing financial models around key business decisions and performance opportunities, providing executive oversight to selected hotels that require additional attention and evolving financial planning into a more predictive discipline. The company said these efforts will give hotel teams earlier visibility into factors that could affect performance and a clearer path from insight to measurable results.
Artificial intelligence and enterprise automation will play a central role in the division’s work. Spire plans to integrate those capabilities directly into its operating model to improve forecasting, eliminate manual processes and identify opportunities that may otherwise go unnoticed. The company said the initiative is intended to create a scalable performance engine that better connects strategy and execution across the portfolio.
For owners, the division is expected to provide a stronger strategic partnership by aligning operational decisions with financial objectives and ownership priorities. The company said the approach will offer greater visibility into performance drivers while helping direct resources where they can have the greatest impact.
“The next evolution of hotel performance is seeing where the opportunity is before it shows up in a month-end report,” Khan said. “We’re moving financial intelligence closer to the property, putting the right resources behind what we find, and doing it fast enough to change the outcome, not just report on it.”
Khan brings more than 25 years of hospitality experience to the position. He most recently served as vice president of owner services and previously held the role of vice president of hotel performance and analytics.
