Further expanding its presence in the branded lifestyle segment, Crescent Hotels & Resorts has assumed management of the Renaissance Columbus Downtown Hotel.
The 408-room property—which is owned by Lewis Center, Ohio-based Whitestone Companies—features modern guestrooms, a rooftop pool and bar overlooking the city skyline and more than 22,500 square-feet of meeting and event space. Located in downtown Columbus, the hotel looks to blend contemporary design with Midwest hospitality and is within walking distance of the city’s restaurants, cultural institutions and the Short North Arts District.
Fairfax, Va.-based Crescent Hotels said plans are underway to enhance the guest experience through design and programming inspired by Columbus’s creative community with the goal of aligning the Renaissance brand’s global positioning with a more localized sense of place. The addition of the hotel deepens Crescent’s ongoing partnership with Whitestone Companies and increases both firms’ footprint in the Columbus market.
