JW Marriott Nashville developer Turnberry Associates will commission Michelin-stared chef Michael Mina to run its Bourbon Steak steakhouse. The steakhouse is set to open as part of the 533-guestroom downtown property in 2018.

In a statement, Jeffrey Soffer, co-chairman and CEO at Turnberry Associates, said said that the company's “continued success” with Mina at Bourbon Steak at Turnberry Isle and both StripSteak and Pizza & Burger at Fontainebleau Miami Beach is a “testament to the draw of Mina’s cuisine.”

The indoor-outdoor top-floor venue's menu includes a mix of Mina specialties, such as chargrilled, butter-poached beef and Maine lobster pot pie.

“I have always admired the hospitality of Nashville, and we are thrilled to be collaborating with a venerable hotel, JW Marriott Nashville, as well as our longtime partners at Turnberry Associates,” Michael Mina, chef and founder of Mina Group, said in a statement.

JW Marriott also commissioned hospitality designer Adam D. Tihany to design the 280-seat restaurant. Design features include floor-to-ceiling windows, satin bronze metal accents, red gum wood and bourbon-inspired hues. A bronze-toned liquid metal bar is the space's focal point with the restaurant’s liquor collection set against a gold etched mirror. The restaurant also has an al-fresco terrace lounge of terrazzo granite, travertine limestone and flecked marble.

The steakhouse's two separate private dining rooms for catering meetings and events accommodate up to 20 guests.
