AirSan Investments opens Comfort Inn & Suites in Orlando

The Comfort Inn & Suites Orlando Sanford Airport has opened directly across from Orlando Sanford International Airport.

The four-story hotel is owned by AirSan Investments—an ownership entity of the Hickman family—and is managed by Williamsburg, Va.-based Newport Hospitality Group. The hotel was designed by FK Architecture and developed and constructed by Lamm & Company Partners in collaboration with ownership. Concrete plank construction was incorporated to support sound mitigation for the airport-adjacent location.

The property was developed to serve airport-related demand alongside group and regional travel in the Sanford and Central Florida market, including activity tied to Boombah Sports Complex.

“The family decided to build the Comfort Inn & Suites to meet a need in the Sanford Airport and Boombah Sports Complex market,” André Hickman, owner’s representative for AirSan Investments, said in a statement. “Prior to this new hotel, it was hard for sports teams and groups to find accommodations. This property was designed and constructed to give our guests a quiet, relaxing stay. We included an oversized pool, a large cabana and a BBQ grilling and seating area. We look forward to guests enjoying the property and our staff.”

Newport Hospitality Group—which also manages the Comfort Inn & Suites Sanford North for Airsan—supported development and pre-opening efforts, including purchasing, staffing, sales positioning and operational readiness.

“When you operate across from an airport, the standard is consistency. We are honored to continue building with the Hickman family and positioning this hotel for success,” added Wayne West III, president of Newport Hospitality Group.

Public spaces emphasize natural light and durable finishes suited to high-volume travel. The breakfast area is organized around an island-style layout, and the hotel includes meeting space for small corporate sessions and team briefings.

In addition to airport traffic, the hotel provides complimentary shuttle service to the terminal and serves group business connected to the sports complex and cruise travelers utilizing Go Port transportation to Port Canaveral. The location also offers access to Downtown Sanford and the Lake Monroe waterfront.
