NoMad Hotels names chief brand officer as growth ramps up

In preparation for a new phase of international growth, luxury lifestyle flag NoMad Hotels has promoted Kristen Millar to chief brand officer.

In her new role, Millar will oversee NoMad’s global brand and design strategy, with responsibility for creative direction and brand expression across all touchpoints. The move comes ahead of two significant developments for the brand—including its first Asia-Pacific project, NoMad at Hilton Singapore Orchard—expected to open later this year. The Hilton brand also has a Detroit property slated for early 2027 within the Michigan Central Station redevelopment.

“NoMad is a brand that embodies meaningful storytelling, cultural exchange and the interflow of creativity and hospitality,” Millar said in a statement. “NoMad thrives on local and global collaboration, and we will continue to unite the finest talent in design, art curation, food and beverage to craft a rich, layered guest experience. It is with great joy and honor that I take on this central role in the brand’s expansion as we introduce NoMad to new markets, and the next 12 months will be some of the most exciting in the brand’s history.”

“With several major launches ahead—including our first in Asia and the highly anticipated NoMad Detroit—our brand is entering a critical phase of global growth. I’m thrilled to continue collaborating with Kristen in her new role as chief brand officer,” added Andrew Zobler, founder & CEO, New York, N.Y.-based The Sydell Group, which owns and develops lifestyle hotel brands.

Millar brings 16 years of hospitality experience, including leadership roles at Eleven Madison Park, and has played a key role in shaping the NoMad brand since its debut in New York in 2012. Most recently, she was global brand director, where she helped define the company’s design standards and experiential positioning.

Her new responsibilities will include interior design, digital platforms and cultural programming, with an emphasis on delivering a cohesive and locally responsive guest experience as the brand grows its international footprint.

NoMad operates within the broader portfolio of Hilton and is positioned in the luxury lifestyle segment, targeting travelers seeking design-driven, experience-focused stays. The upcoming Singapore and Detroit openings will join the brand’s London property, which debuted in 2021, as it continues to build a global presence.
