WorldHotels has introduced WorldHotels Backdrop, a new collection of upscale glamping retreats and outdoor escapes designed to blend nature-driven experiences with elevated hospitality.
The portfolio includes canvas-tented accommodations, riverside cabins and lodges located in mountain, coastal and national park gateway destinations. The initial portfolio includes Zion Wildflower Resort near Zion National Park; Asheville River Cabins along the French Broad River near Asheville in the Blue Ridge Mountains; and The Lodge at Pico Bonito, an upcoming rainforest lodge near Pico Bonito National Park.
“Today’s traveler is seeking more than a getaway; they’re looking for connection and purpose,” Ron Pohl, president of WorldHotels, said in a statement. “WorldHotels Backdrop allows guests to fully experience remarkable outdoor environments while enjoying the elevated hospitality that defines our brand.”
The launch aligns with growing demand for experiential outdoor travel, according to Phoenix, Ariz.-based BWH Hotels, parent company of WorldHotels. The global glamping market, valued at $3.79 billion in 2025, is projected to reach $7.87 billion by 2033.
The company further added that Backdrop properties are designed to capture group demand, with flexible indoor-outdoor venues for meetings, retreats and weddings, supported by on-site culinary and presentation capabilities.
