Hyatt expands all-inclusive reach with Bahia Principe Resorts

On top of a refreshed brand identity and segmentation strategy, Hyatt Hotels Corporation has added Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts to its loyalty program further expanding its presence in the all-inclusive market.

As a result of the agreement, World of Hyatt members can now earn and redeem points at participating Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts properties, adding approximately 12,000 rooms across more than 20 resorts in the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Jamaica and Spain. The move expands Chicago-based Hyatt’s joint venture with Grupo Piñero, which manages Bahia Principe-branded properties and owns the brand.

With the integration, Bahia Principe becomes the ninth brand within Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection. The integration coincides with a broader repositioning of Bahia Principe’s portfolio. The brand has reorganized its resorts into two core segments: adults-only properties under the “Escape” line and family-oriented resorts under the “Explore” line, in an effort to align offerings more closely with evolving traveler preferences.

“We are excited to embark on this new chapter as we become part of World of Hyatt: a program with more than 63 million members that will offer us unprecedented visibility and deeper penetration in key strategic markets,” Julio Pérez, CEO of Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts, said in a statement. “This milestone takes place in parallel with the rebranding of Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts.”

“Welcoming these resorts into World of Hyatt gives our members more ways to experience the joy of all-inclusive travel, while continuing to build momentum behind our strategic joint venture with a key partner such as Piñero,” added Javier Águila, president of Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection.

Among the featured resorts now participating in the program are beachfront and experience-driven properties across key markets, such as Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda and the reimagined Explore Legend, both in Punta Cana; Explore Akumal and Escape Tequila in Mexico’s Riviera Maya; and Europe’s Escape Tenerife in Tenerife.
