The former Crowne Plaza Oklahoma City has been sold to Champion Hotels, which plans a multimillion-dollar redevelopment and repositioning of the hotel.
The redevelopment is expected to include an approximately 200-room, dual-brand Hilton hotel as part of a larger mixed-use project. The site includes a 10-story hotel tower that was originally developed as a Hilton in 1969. The property has faced a series of challenges in recent years, including a prolonged foreclosure and legal dispute.
The transaction was brokered by HotelBrokerOne’s Oklahoma City office and Prince Edwards Company, which co-listed the property.
“This project represents an exciting vision for the revitalization and rejuvenation of this important area,” Peter Holmes, COO of HotelBrokerOne, said in a statement. “The exceptional location, the long-standing success of the Northwest Expressway corridor and the size of the property combine to create a unique opportunity for an innovative and diverse development, with the new hotel serving as its core.”
