Cooper Hotels acquires Florida Homewood Suites, Hampton Inn

Hospitality development and management company Cooper Hotels has acquired the Homewood Suites by Hilton Bonita Springs Naples (Fla.) North and Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Bonita Springs Naples North. The new additions are the company’s third and fourth hotel in the Naples area, joining the Hilton Naples and Hampton Inn by Hilton Naples Central, and the eighth Hilton-branded hotels in Southwest Florida. Financial terms of the transactions were not disclosed.

The company plans to retain the Hilton brands and continue day-to-day hotel operations.

Cooper Hotels has now added three Bonita Springs/Naples area hotels to its portfolio since late October, when it purchased the Hampton Inn Naples Central. According to a statement, the acquisitions reflect Cooper Hotels’ “confidence in the region’s long-term economic growth and population expansion” along with “strong” visitor demand.

“We are excited to add these two outstanding hotels to our 100 percent Hilton-branded portfolio,” Pace Cooper, president and CEO of Cooper Hotels, said in the statement. “Bonita Springs continues to demonstrate strong demand for quality lodging. These acquisitions represent another step in our commitment to disciplined growth.”

The recently renovated, four-story Homewood Suites by Hilton has 106 suites with full kitchens and separate living areas as well as an outdoor pool and meeting rooms.

The three-story Hampton Inn by Hilton hotel has 92 guestrooms, an outdoor pool, 24-hour fitness center, business center and meeting rooms.

According to the company, local tourism officials and business leaders have cited Bonita Springs as one of Southwest Florida’s “strongest-performing hospitality markets,” benefiting from its proximity to Gulf beaches, Southwest Florida International Airport and ongoing residential and commercial development.
