Blue Suede Hospitality Group has sold The Doyle Hotel, an independent lifestyle property in Charlottesville, Va., to Ross Hotel Partners and Buckhead America Hospitality for $22 million.
Walker & Dunlop Capital Markets Hospitality Advisory—led by Carter Gradwell, Jay Morrow, Katy Reynolds and Joey Gilbert—arranged the sale on behalf of the seller.
Originally opened in 2020 as Quirk Hotel Charlottesville, The Doyle is an 80-key lifestyle hotel with 11,000 square feet of meeting and event space, five food-and-beverage concepts and a rooftop terrace. It is in Charlottesville’s historic downtown area, close to the University of Virginia, UVA Health and the Downtown Mall.
“The Doyle represents a truly differentiated luxury lifestyle offering, distinguished by exceptional design, an irreplaceable downtown location and a collection of experiential food-and-beverage concepts,” Carter Gradwell, senior director of capital markets hospitality advisory at Walker & Dunlop, said in a statement. “The asset presented a rare investment opportunity to acquire a newly constructed, independent hotel with significant branding and operational flexibility in one of Virginia’s most dynamic lodging markets. We are grateful to all parties involved for their partnership in successfully executing the transaction and could not be more excited for the property’s next chapter as a continued landmark hospitality destination in Charlottesville.”
