LuggageHero launches platform for hotels

LuggageHero has launched HotelsHero, a service to help hotels store luggage, while also giving guests the option of tipping bell staff without needing cash.

HotelsHero’s AI-powered system streamlines the luggage storage process, letting guests store their own luggage without the help of staff members or facilitating signup and bag identification with the hotel team as needed. Hotels can choose whether to offer luggage storage for free or add a handling fee. Guests can add insurance coverage through the platform.

The software is free for hotels. Revenue for HotelsHero comes from service fees paid by guests for any add-ons, such as tipping or insurance.

Guests can use the system by scanning the HotelsHero QR Code, tagging their luggage and either giving it to the bell staff or dropping it off in a secure location that unlocks through the app. They can then retrieve their luggage via a digital claims ticket. Customers can use the platform to purchase insurance and to tip staff, and the analytics tool calculates a hotel's busy periods, predicting rush hours, seasonality and peak times.

The platform automatically identifies each booking’s tags and bag details. Each storage seal is designed to show signs of tampering to provide immediate visual confirmation of unauthorized access. Managers can choose whether to enable or disable the use of security seals.
