Digital bank and flexible payment provider Klarna has partnered with Aven Hospitality to bring its payment options to some 10,000 hotels connected to Aven’s booking engine.
The integration will span the U.S., Sweden, Germany, Austria, Norway and Finland, with additional markets planned later this year. The rollout is designed to offer an alternative to traditional credit card payments enabling travelers to pay in full, split bookings into interest-free installments or opt for longer-term financing at checkout.
“Hotel stays are among the largest expenses travelers book in a single transaction, and until now, the default has been credit,” David Sykes, chief commercial officer at Stockholm, Sweden-based Klarna, said in a statement. “With this integration, travelers gain real flexibility from the moment they book.”
“Flexibility is no longer a perk—it’s an expectation,” “This integration enables hotels to meet that demand at scale,” added Ethan Wiseman, head of distribution and product management at Southlake, Texas-based Aven Hospitality, which was previously known as Sabre Hospitality Solutions.
