Houstonian Hotel adds air purification system from GPS

The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa has installed GPS Air’s ionization-based purification systems in 32 units across its hotel rooms, spa, fitness center and restaurants to address air quality concerns.

The project began in December 2020 after the Houstonian’s facilities team evaluated multiple technologies and selected Charlotte, N.C.-based GPS Air. The luxury hospitality and fitness destination in Houston, hosts some 2,000 visitors daily across its amenities.

“In nearly four decades as a facilities engineer, GPS Air stands out as one of the most reliable and practical technologies I've encountered,” Greg Branum, director of facilities at The Houstonian, said in a statement. “Its simplicity and minimal maintenance significantly reduce our operational burden, allowing us to focus more on enhancing the guest experience. It’s a long-term solution that continues to deliver exactly as promised.”

Since the installation, the hotel has promoted the upgrade to guests and members, receiving positive feedback, including from medical professionals who cited increased confidence in the facility’s air quality.

“The hospitality industry is changing fast, and air quality has moved from a behind-the-scenes concern to an essential part of the guest experience,” said Audwin Cash, CEO of GPS Air.
