Vingcard has introduced Novel DIN, a new electronic lock designed for hospitality and other commercial properties using DIN lock cases commonly found across Europe.

The lock is designed for both new installations and retrofit projects, particularly doors with low backsets, and features a narrow-profile escutcheon intended to accommodate a range of door configurations, according to the Stockhold, Sweden-based affiliate of Assa Abloy.

Built on the company’s latest electronics platform, the lock includes Bluetooth Low Energy, Near Field Communication and Zigbee functionality designed to support mobile credentials, digital-wallet room access and online connectivity.

“Today’s properties require access solutions that are not only secure, but also adaptable to different building types, door configurations and user expectations,” Li Wang, SVP and head of hospitality at Vingcard, said in a statement. “With Vingcard Novel DIN, we have designed a solution that brings together flexibility, advanced technology and refined design to support a wide range of applications while ensuring a safe, reliable and convenient access experience.”

The lock is compatible with Vingcard’s Vostio access management platform, which is designed to allow operators to manage access control through a cloud-based system with centralized oversight and real-time updates across multiple properties. The system also supports RFID credential technologies including MIFARE DESFire EV2 and EV3.

Novel DIN is available in multiple anodized finishes and is designed for use in guestrooms, residential units and back-of-house areas. According to the company, the product complies with European certification standards and is intended for both indoor and outdoor environments.
