In an effort to broaden access to security tools for hoteliers, Mews has made Single Sign-On available at no additional cost to all property management system customers.
The company said the decision comes as the average global cost of a data breach reached $4.4 million in 2025, according to IBM, underscoring the financial and operational impact of compromised guest and payment data.
SSO—widely considered a security best practice—has often been limited to higher-tier enterprise software plans, according to the Amsterdam-based PMS provider. SSO technology allows employees to access multiple systems through a single, centrally managed login, which can reduce security incidents while improving operational efficiency.
“This rollout strengthens our security posture while simplifying daily access for staff,” Dávid Palojtay, managing director of Avenue Hostel, said in a statement. “Single Sign-On works perfectly for us—it improves both security and convenience—and it’s great to see Mews making this feature available to all customers.”
“Guests expect their personal and payment information to be handled securely. Making SSO available to all customers ensures modern identity protection is accessible to every property, without adding financial or operational strain,” added Ryan Tomlinson, VP of product and engineering at Mews.
SSO is now available to all Mews PMS customers, with onboarding designed to support implementation. The company said it continues to invest in identity and access management tools and noted that passkeys can serve as an alternative authentication method for organizations not yet adopting SSO.
