Pacifica Hotels, Concord Hospitality, hotels name sales leaders

A number of hotels and hotel companies have appointed new sales and marketing leaders in recent weeks. Here are some names to know. 

The Broadmoor

In Colorado Springs, Colo., The Broadmoor appointed Janell Davies as its new director of insurance and incentive sales.

Before her new position at The Broadmoor, Davies worked with Ritz-Carlton Resorts of Naples, Fla., where she was senior market sales executive, group. She was also the director of national accounts for Fontainebleau Miami Beach for more than 15 years.

The Chancery Rosewood

In London, the Chancery Rosewood appointed Stephanie Clarke director of sales and marketing.

Before joining Rosewood, Stephanie led sales and marketing at The Carlton Tower Jumeirah and The Lowndes London where she helped drive revenue growth and strategic partnerships. The opening and positioning of The Carlton Tower was a key success in the development of the Jumeirah brand in Europe. Clarke started her career at The Ritz Paris where she oversaw sales and marketing during the hotel's four-year renovation project. She later became director of sales and marketing at Le Royal Monceau Raffles Paris, where she orchestrated a comprehensive commercial strategy and developed partnerships.

Concord Hospitality

Concord Hospitality has promoted Farrah Staub to regional vice president of sales and marketing. In her new role, Staub will support various independent and luxury properties ranging from full to select service hotels across the Marriott, Hilton and Hyatt brands.

In 2013, Staub joined Concord Hospitality as the director of sales and marketing at the Raleigh Marriott Crabtree Valley. Originally from Las Vegas, Staub launched her career in sales at MGM Resorts International, and advanced through various roles over the years, including sales coordinator, sales manager, assistant director of sales and director of sales & marketing. 

In her new role, Staub will oversee revenue, brand visibility and customer engagement for a number of hotels in the company's portfolio. 

Concord operates more than 140 hotels across North America.

Grand Hyatt Deer Valley

When the property opens in November, Christina Richardson will be the debut director of sales, marketing and events at the Grand Hyatt Deer Valley. 

Richardson has worked at the Carmel Valley Ranch in Carmel-by-the-Sea, Calif; Hyatt Regency Maui, Hawaii; and the Marriott Waikiki Complex in Honolulu where she drove revenue growth and developed client relationships. 

Half Moon Bay Lodge

Pacifica Hotels appointed Sol Gumapa director of sales at Half Moon Bay Lodge in Half Moon Bay,, Calif. Before her new role, Gumapac was the hotel front office operations and group sales manager for Trigild Services. She also held positions at Stanford University, Choice Hotels, Holiday Inn & Suites and Coron Tours & Travel.

Limelight Boulder

Limelight Hotels announces the recent appointment of Angela Blackstock as the director of sales and marketing of its highly anticipated new hotel, Limelight Boulder, which is set to open in 2025 on the University of Colorado Boulder campus.

Blackstock has more than 30 years of experience in the hotel industry, particularly within sales, marketing and catering departments. She joined Limelight Boulder from her previous role at Sage Hospitality as director of sales and marketing at Embassy Suites Boulder and Hilton Garden Inn Boulder in Boulder, Colo., for more than seven years. Blackstock has also held key positions at Renaissance Boulder Flatiron Hotel, Millennium Harvest House Boulder and Radisson Hotel Denver Stapleton Plaza.

Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana

Cordish Gaming Group, the gaming division of The Cordish Companies, has appointed Jamie Williams director of sales of the $270+ Million Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana, set to open in early 2025 as the first land-based casino in the Shreveport-Bossier market and the first Live! branded property in Louisiana. Williams is responsible for planning and managing the overall strategic sales and marketing initiatives for the 550-room luxury Live! Hotel with a resort-style pool and fitness center and the 25,000-square-foot Event Center.

Before joining the Live! team, Williams held leadership roles including director of sales and catering at Golden Nugget Lake Charles Hotel and Casino; director of sales, catering, events and marketing at the Shreveport Convention Center and Shreveport Municipal Auditorium; director of sales at Horseshoe Bossier City Casino and Hotel and Harrah’s Louisiana Downs; sales manager at Sam’s Town Hotel & Casino; director of sales at Isle of Capri Casino & Hotel Bossier City; and director of sales at Diamond Jacks Casino & Hotel, the predecessor property currently being renovated into Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana.

Moxy Boulder

Vision Hospitality Group appointed Katie Moermond director of sales for the new Moxy Boulder, 

Moermond has 18 years of experience in the industry and started her career working with both the Marriott and Hilton brands in Cincinnati. She relocated to Colorado, taking a position with Aimbridge Hospitality in 2019 where she was area director of sales for a newly opened property near the Denver airport and oversaw several properties in Denver; Seattle; San Jose, Calif.; and Nashville. From there she joined the team at the Moxy Denver Cherry Creek in 2022 with Sage Hospitality as director of sales.

Pacifica Hotels

Pacifica Hotels promoted Elaina Jardini to the company’s area director of sales. The California native spent a large part of her career as the sales manager and the event planning manager for SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Paso Robles

Patrick Clemons has been promoted to corporate director of sales for Pacifica Hotels. A veteran of the hospitality industry, Clemons has over 30 years of experience working in the industry. Before accepting this new position, he was regional director of sales for Pacifica Hotels in Aliso Viejo, Calif. Clemons has worked at Evolution Hospitality, Renaissance Palm Springs Hotel, Loews Minneapolis Hotel, Graves Hospitality, The Westin Edina Galleria, The Westin Minneapolis, Wirth Hotels, Hyatt Regency Minneapolis and the Radisson Plaza Hotel.

Thompson Denver

TJ Helms has been appointed as director of group sales at the Thompson Denver. Helms, who has been with Hyatt Hotels & Resorts his entire career, most recently was the sales manager and director of group sales at the Hyatt Regency Denver/Grand Hyatt Denver. 

Helms’ career began at the Hyatt Regency Chicago wearing a variety of hats from housekeeping to front office and sales. He moved to Maui in 2014 where he was the sales manager at Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort, and later was sales manager at the Hyatt Regency Austin. In his new role at Thompson Denver, Helms will oversee group and event sales efforts, event planning, marketing, PR and hotel activations.

Woodstock Inn & Resort

Bruce Grosbety, president of the Woodstock Inn & Resort, appointed Christy Patterson director of sales of the property. 

In her new role, Patterson will lead and oversee all group, transient and catering/banquet sales endeavors; and develop, implement and manage the objectives and policies governing the sales and reservations department, encompassing corporate and social sales, weddings and leisure guest reservations.

Before joining the Woodstock Inn & Resort, Patterson was the director of sales, leisure at the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills from 2022-2024. Previously, Patterson was the director of sales, leisure for Auberge Resorts Collection, in locations such as Anguilla, Costa Rica, New Mexico and Utah. Patterson was the global membership manager at Club Quarters Hotels and held multiple positions at Ritz-Carlton, including director of leisure and business travel sales (Laguna Niguel, Calif.; and Marina del Ray, Calif.) and senior travel industry sales manager (Naples, Fla.).

Patterson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in telecommunications and film broadcast production from the University of Alabama.
