Hotels across the country and in the Caribbean have appointed new sales and marketing leaders. Here are some names to know.
The Barnett and Maison Métier
Kevin Bryant has been appointed complex director of sales and marketing of both The Barnett and Maison Métier in New Orleans.
Bryant, who has more than 28 years of experience in hospitality and luxury resorts throughout Florida, joins The Barnett and Maison Métier after spending the last year developing his own consulting firm for independent resort properties, KB Hospitality Consulting. Before that he was vice president of sales at Fontainebleau Miami Beach. Bryant also has experience working in the cruise sector, where he was associate vice president, revenue management at Celebrity Cruise Lines and Royal Caribbean Cruises in 2016.
Couples Resorts
Couples Resorts appointed Francine Allen director of sales for Canada and promoted Garfield Collins to director of strategic accounts, North America.
In her new role, Allen will spearhead sales efforts and develop relationships with key partners in the Canadian market across Couples Resorts' four properties in Jamaica—Couples Tower Isle, Couples Sans Souci, Couples Swept Away, and Couples Negril. Allen joins the resort team from Venturo Hospitality Group in the U.K., where she led global marketing strategies and brand management. She also held roles at Air Canada and worked in marketing, sales and hotel operations at Sandals Resorts and Unique Vacations.
Collins’ tenure at Couples Resorts began at Couples Swept Away in 1996. He held roles at SuperClubs and a pivotal position overseeing sales in The Bahamas, Jamaica and Cuba before his return to Couples Resorts. Collins holds a master’s degree in hospitality and hotel management and a master's certification in revenue management and marketing from Cornell University, alongside a certificate in professional development from Georgetown University Center for Cultural Development.
Hotel La Jolla
Hotel La Jolla (Calif.), Curio Collection by Hilton, a 50-year-old property in the seaside community of La Jolla Shores, appointed Maria Sifuentes its new director of sales and marketing. Sifuentes joins the property on the heels of a multimillion-dollar reimagination encompassing all 110 guestrooms and suites, 1,600 square feet of meetings and space and its 11th-floor restaurant and private events room.
Sifuentes has more than 20 years of hospitality experience with a focus in hotel sales, marketing and food and beverage. Most recently, she was director of sales and marketing for Colorado-based Sage Hospitality, where she oversaw sales operations for Marriott select brands. Before that role, Sifuentes held leadership positions at San Diego’s Excel Hotel Group as opening director of sales and Huntington Hotel Group as dual-property sales leader, in addition to holding multiple sales-manager positions at properties around the country including the iconic Queen Mary in Long Beach, Calif.
Marriott Lincolnshire Resort
Marriott Lincolnshire (Ill.) Resort appointed Margarita Solis associate director of sales.
Solis first joined Marriott International in 2008, rising from business development manager to a key role on the Marriott International Mid-America sales Team. In 2016, she joined Marriott Lincolnshire Resort as a senior sales manager, earning a promotion to associate director of sales within a year. Previously, she oversaw sales efforts for the newly opened Curacao Marriott Beach Resort.
Montage Big Sky
Montage Big Sky (Mont.) appointed Tiffany Irwin director of sales and marketing.
Irwin joins Montage Big Sky from Auberge Resorts Collection, where she was area director of sales for properties in Santa Fe, N.M., and Deer Valley, Utah. Before Auberge, Irwin held key roles at other hospitality brands like Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, The Stoneleigh Hotel & Spa in Dallas and Omni Hotels & Resorts.
