Hyatt, Hilton, other hotels appoint sales, marketing leaders

A number of hotels across the country have appointed sales and marketing leaders. Here are some names to know.

Abigail Seanez is the new director of sales at Caption by Hyatt Nashville. Previously the director of sales at Hotel Nashville Brentwood, Seanez was responsible for meeting and exceeding revenue goals, managing key relationships and identifying new target markets. Previously, she was market sales executive at Drury Hotels and senior sales manager at Hotel Indigo.

The Elizabeth Hotel

Tamika Weiss is the new director of sales & marketing at the Elizabeth Hotel in Fort Collins, Colo.

Weiss joins The Elizabeth from the Embassy Suites by Hilton Loveland (Colo.) Conference Center. Her previous hospitality experience includes working as a conference services manager at the Beaver Run Resort & Conference Center in Breckenridge, Colo., as well as general manager of several Colorado restaurants, including Mi Casa Mexican Restaurant & Cantina, the Rio Grande and Coyote’s Southwestern Grill.

Hyatt Regency Irvine

The newly renovated Hyatt Regency Irvine, Calif., appointed Joseph Zuziak as director of sales and marketing. 

Zuziak most recently was director of group sales at Park Hyatt Aviara in Carlsbad, Calif., where he oversaw incentive business following a $50 million resortwide transformation. Over his decade of experience, he has held numerous positions, including director of sales for the Marriott Southwest group sales office. In this role, he oversaw numerous sales teams responsible for driving annual revenue across a range of Marriott hotels from Santa Barbara to San Diego, as well as in Arizona and Nevada. His responsibilities included managing the execution of post-acquisition integration operations and ensuring a smooth transition to Marriott’s software suite and internal processes.

Origin Hotel Kansas City

Katie Tiegreen is the new director of sales at the Origin Hotel Kansas City, Mo.

Born and raised in Lawrence, Kan., Tiegreen has held leadership roles in sales and catering with Prism Hotels & Resorts, Heart of America Group and Martens Companies. 

Renaissance Chicago North Shore Hotel

Bricton Group appointed Michael Solis director of sales and events at the Renaissance Chicago North Shore Hotel.

Solis brings over 20 years of hospitality sales expertise to his new role. Most recently, he was the director of sales and marketing at the Hyatt Rosemont. Prior to that, he served as the area director of group sales for The Royal Sonesta Hotels of Chicago, overseeing sales efforts for three downtown properties. He was director, global sales – group for Wyndham Hotels and director of sales and marketing at several independent and branded hotels in downtown Chicago, including The Talbott Hotel and The Silversmith Hotel.

Ritz-Carlton, San Juan

The Ritz-Carlton, San Juan appointed Jeannette Avilés as director of sales and marketing. With 24 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Avilés’ immediate priorities involve spearheading marketing plans around the resort's reopening in 2025, as well as developing transient, corporate and group offerings.

Avilés’ career began in 2000 as a group sales manager at the San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino in Puerto Rico. In 2007, she became director of group sales at a beach resort and spa. There, she managed a team overseeing a significant annual budget of 50,000 room nights and $9.5 million for the 600-room property. She was director of sales & marketing at the Sheraton Puerto Rico Resort & Casino.

Sheraton Denver Downtown

Sheraton Denver Downtown has appointed Siiri Lobe as the new director of sales and marketing. Lobe brings more than 20 years of hospitality experience to the role and will develop and oversee group sales and marketing for the property.

Most recently, Lobe spent the past seven years in San Antonio as the director of group sales for the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter & Riverwalk, a dual property complex of hotels where she led the property through the pandemic and a $100 million renovation. She started her career in hospitality at the Chicago Marriott Downtown on the Magnificent Mile.

Tanzerra Resorts

Tanzerra Resorts, the owner and operator of five resorts, has appointed Brett Briseno vice president of sales and marketing and Shannon Walters director of sales and marketing for Enchantment Resort and Mii amo resorts in Sedona, Ariz.

Before his promotion, Briseno was director of sales and marketing for Enchantment Resort and Mii amo. He helped oversee the reopening of Mii amo following the spa’s two-year closure and $40 million renovation, as well as the recent refresh to Enchantment Resort’s pool deck and new poolside dining venue, The Edge. Briseno has worked with W Hotels, including W Dallas Victory, W Minneapolis, W Austin; Auberge Resorts Collection and Aurora Anguilla Resort & Golf Club. In his new role, he will oversee sales and marketing strategies for Tanzerra Resorts’ full portfolio across North America.

As the new director of sales and marketing for Enchantment Resort and Mii amo, Walters brings more than 25 years of hospitality experience. Originally from southern California, she began her career in front-office operations before rising to sales manager of Hilton Hotel in Long Beach, Calif. Her roles have included director of sales at Pacific Palms Resort in Industry, Calif., and vice president of sales and marketing at the Mission Inn Hotel & Spa in Riverside, Calif. Most recently before her promotion, Walters was director of catering and conference services for Enchantment Resort. In her new role, she will oversee the sales and marketing strategies for both properties, promoting their offerings in the meeting and event planning sectors and managing the event services and catering departments.
