Duetto has entered into a strategic co-development partnership with Meliá Hotels International to build resort-specific functionality into Duetto’s revenue & profit operating system (RP-OS).
Aimed at addressing operational and commercial complexities unique to resorts, the multi-year agreement combines Spain-based Meliá’s operational experience with San Francisco-based Duetto’s technology platform. As part of the announcement, Meliá also extended its contract with Duetto for an additional three years. The platform is currently deployed across more than 250 Meliá properties.
“Duetto has been integral to how we understand and drive resort performance,” Borja Velasco, senior director of revenue management at Melia Hotels International, said in a statement. “Adding tour operators to that picture will help us anticipate change and drive more profitable growth—and this is just the beginning of what we plan to build together through our partnership.”
“Meliá is a market-leading brand that understands the evolving commercial dynamics of modern resorts. By co-creating resort capabilities, we aren't just adding features we are building a new category of intelligence for a segment that has been underserved by technology providers to date,” added Kartik Yellepeddi, chief product officer, Duetto.
Initial development efforts will focus on wholesale distribution and packaged travel channels, a segment that remains reliant on manual processes and static contracts. The planned Tour Operator Module is designed to integrate these channels into RP-OS, with tools for automation, performance analysis and scenario modeling.
According to the companies, the module is intended to provide greater visibility into pricing, promotions and inventory management, while improving measurement of wholesale partner performance.
