Wisconsin Marriott updates guestrooms, public areas after conversion

The Madison (Wis.) Marriott South has completed a series of renovations to its guestrooms, meeting spaces and public areas following its conversion from a Sheraton hotel.

“These renovations reflect the continued growth of Madison as a destination for business meetings, events and tourism, and we wanted to create a space that is functional, fun and welcoming, both for guests and the general public to enjoy,” Madison Marriott South General Manager Chris Scheel said in a statement. “We look forward to welcoming guests to a globally recognized brand and all it has to offer.”

Using a design by Sheedy | De La Rose Interiors of Chicago, the hotel began its transition in June 2025, with renovations to the hotel’s meeting spaces starting in July. Guest room renovations followed that in November. Improvements were also made throughout the hotel’s public spaces and exterior.

Guestrooms have new flooring and a new HVAC system. The hotel also increased internet bandwidth throughout guestrooms, meeting spaces and public areas.

All meeting spaces were renovated with new carpet, wall coverings, energy-efficient lighting and lighting controls. Select meeting rooms also received upgraded AV equipment, including new 75” 4K televisions. The renovations also added “The Landing,” a new pre-function space outside the hotel’s largest meeting room, along with electronic reader boards in the lobby and outside meeting spaces to assist guests and event attendees.

Public space improvements included enhanced lighting throughout guest hallways, the addition of the M Club for Marriott Bonvoy Elite members, new energy-efficient lighting controls in select public areas and a refreshed exterior color scheme.

The hotel is managed by Legacy Ventures, a best-in-class hospitality investment, development and management company, based in Atlanta.
