The Westin Crystal City is preparing to reopen later this month following a comprehensive renovation that introduces redesigned guestrooms, updated public spaces and new dining concepts.
The Virginia hotel—managed by Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Dimension Hospitality—also recently appointed Handan Duvall as director of sales and marketing. Duvall brings more than 25 years of hospitality industry experience and will focus on expanding the property’s presence among both corporate and leisure travelers. Located adjacent to the Crystal City Metro station and approximately one mile from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, the hotel provides access to Washington, D.C.
“Westin Crystal City aims to bring guests a place of home and connection,” general manager Vikas Lalwani said in a statement. “Inspired by our location in National Landing and the natural beauty of the Potomac River, the renovation embraces a design that allows guests to unwind, conduct business and connect in a refreshed environment.”
The renovation includes 223 redesigned guestrooms and suites, refreshed lobby and social areas, a new restaurant concept and upgraded meeting and event space. The updated design was inspired by the nearby Potomac River, incorporating clean architectural lines, natural textures, layered lighting and a neutral color palette intended to create a calm and contemporary environment.
The lobby has been reconfigured as a central social space with modern furnishings and gathering areas designed for both relaxation and informal meetings. Guestrooms feature updated finishes, work areas and the brand’s signature Heavenly Beds, along with high-speed Internet and HDTVs. A new full-service coffee bar will open in the lobby serving coffee from Commonwealth Joe, a regional café brand based in nearby Pentagon City.
