Westin Atlanta Perimeter updates guestrooms, public spaces

The Westin Atlanta Perimeter completed a multimillion-dollar, comprehensive renovation, two years in the making, resulting in redesigned public spaces, guestrooms, suites, meeting spaces, event venues and dining outlets. The 372-room hotel added two new 1,250 square-foot Premier Suites: a one-bedroom Presidential Suite, and a two-bedroom, bi-level corner suite. The entire property is flooded with natural light, with an open and inviting lobby, drawing guests downstairs to the stunning new SAVOR bar & kitchen, all overlooking the property’s private lake. In the culinary space, the new Perimeter Provisions café and marketplace has been added just off the lobby, and the Savor bar & kitchen patio has been activated with cabanas and fire pits enhancing lakefront, alfresco dining opportunities.

“Combined with our exceptional team and amenities, the completion of this top-to-bottom renovation has truly allowed us to actualize the hotel’s potential, making it the highest quality product in Atlanta’s Central Perimeter market for groups, meetings, events, and leisure travelers,” General Manager Thierry Grodet said in a statement.

The narrative that guided the interior design process of the renovation had everything to do with the hotel’s location 20 minutes north of Atlanta in the city of Sandy Springs. “The hotel’s design seeks to encapsulate the essence of its locale, where the vibrancy of urban culture harmonizes with the serenity of nature and outdoor exploration,” said Brook Schulze of Studio 11 Design. Schulze and team aimed to forge a visual connection between Atlanta’s cityscape and the inviting ambiance of the Sandy Springs community. Upon entry, the expansive windows on the north side of the hotel provide guests with captivating views of both the natural beauty, punctuated by a private lake, and urban panorama.

The nature-inspired design is complemented with urban sophistication throughout, elevating the landscape with refined mixed metal finishes, polished natural stone surfaces and the clean lines of contemporary furnishings. Natural elements are emphasized, while subtle geometric motifs in the lobby’s white oak woodwork pay homage to the architectural schemes found throughout the city. The fabrics utilized throughout the hotel embrace the warm tones evocative of the limestone-rich environment and sandy Chattahoochee Riverbanks, reflected in a palette of earthy hues, deep blues and soft greens. Carpets feature soothing wave patterns inspired by the natural springs and a thoughtful selection of indoor plants bring the outside in, while rich wood tones provide a sense of grounding comfort inviting ease amid the dynamic city energy.

The hotel’s renovation also makes it one of the first properties to have the new Next Generation Westin Heavenly Bed in all guestrooms and suites. From the plush-top mattress and its innovative silver fiber weave to the added layers of temperature-regulating gel-infused memory foam, the next generation Heavenly Bed mattress offers a superior sleep experience further enhanced by the significant upgrades to bedding design and materials. All bedding components have been upgraded to hypoallergenic materials and the blended duvet insert was created with a unique mix of materials and wrapped in smooth cotton, which is designed to regulate temperature and keep guests cool for a better night’s sleep.

The property’s Savor bar and kitchen also underwent a complete overhaul. In keeping with the rest of the property, floor-to-high-ceiling windows deliver natural light and scenic views of the lake-front, while nature-inspired design and wood finishes continue to bring the outdoors in. Indoor foliage and natural finishes, complemented by brass accents and glossy tiles, create a tranquil yet captivating ambiance. The grand bar is a lively centerpiece, while both a private dining room and semi-private space tucked away offers various opportunities for small groups and celebrations. The daily breakfast buffet has moved to this new and improved location, while the enhanced lake-front patio features three cabanas and accompanying fire pits.

The redesign extends throughout the more than 25,000 total square feet of meeting and event space, encompassing 10 event rooms, the largest of which can accommodate 900 people. A key differentiator of The Westin Atlanta Perimeter within a saturated market of corporate businesses is the natural light that permeates every space.
