New Orleans Aloft updates guestrooms, public spaces

The 188-room Aloft New Orleans Downtown has completed an interior renovation that includes a redesign of the lobby and updates to the guestrooms, guest corridors and fitness center.

Lobby & Lounge

With design led by Pinnacle South, the hotel’s open-concept lobby was overhauled with the relocation of the front-desk area, a new seating area and wallcoverings. Previously a round circular reception desk in the center of the lobby, the updated front desk now sits on the edge of the space, creating room for a modular lounge. A custom floor-to-ceiling mural illustrating New Orleans’ music scene wraps the three walls between the lobby and adjacent lounge area. Colorful light fixtures and backlit wall features catch the eye while also highlighting the bright blue, gold and magenta hues used throughout the lobby’s refreshed seating areas.

The hotel’s W XYZ Bar & Lounge is adjacent to the lobby and reception desk, and has overhead LED lighting, a pool table and tabletop games. For grab-and-go dining, the 24-hour Re:fuel market has a range of self-serve options.

Guestrooms

Pinks, oranges and blues from the lobby were pulled into acrylic artwork inset into the guestroom headboards, which include abstract depictions of New Orleans’ signature architecture.

Bright teal carpeting and wood flooring was installed along with new lounge and desk chairs, reupholstered benches and colorful pillows. The bathrooms got fresh paint and wall coverings and guestroom corridors got updated ceiling paints and light fixtures.

Recreation & Meetings

The hotel’s 24-hour Re:charge Fitness Center, which has cardio equipment and free weights, was upgraded with new flooring, wall coverings and paint. The heated rooftop pool also got new furniture. The property has six event rooms with catering options, AV equipment and high-speed internet.

Aloft New Orleans is managed by HRI Lodging. The property is in New Orleans’ Central Business District, close to the Caesars Superdome, Smoothie King Center and Historic French Quarter.
