Maya Hotels completes three renovations across the Carolinas

As part of its ongoing capital investment strategy, Maya Hotels has completed three full-property renovations across North and South Carolina over the past year.

With the completion of these projects, approximately 34 percent of the Charlotte, N.C.-based management company’s total guestrooms are now newly renovated across its portfolio. The most recently renovated properties include Candlewood Suites Mooresville Lake Norman in North Carolina; Hampton Inn & Suites Charlotte Arrowood Road in Charlotte, N.C.; and Hampton Inn Columbia Northeast Fort Jackson Area in Columbia, S.C.

“These renovations reflect our focus on creating hotels that are comfortable and functional for today’s traveler while also supporting our teams on property,” Parimal Thakor, co-CEO of Maya Hotels, said in a statement. “Equally important, they represent disciplined investment in assets we believe will perform well over the long term.”

Across the three properties, upgrades include refreshed guestrooms, modernized fitness centers, enhanced public areas, updated food-and-beverage spaces and technology-enabled work areas tailored to each hotel’s market.

The Candlewood Suites Mooresvillelocated near Lake Norman, major corporate offices and Interstate 77—is a 90-room extended-stay hotel which received updates to guest suites, including refreshed kitchens, improved workstations and new soft goods. Public-area improvements include upgraded fitness facilities and outdoor grilling areas.

The Hampton Inn & Suites Charlotte is situated off Interstate 77 near Charlotte Douglas International Airport and key business corridors. The 105-suite hotel underwent a comprehensive renovation encompassing guestrooms, public spaces and in-room technology.

The Hampton Inn Columbia is located near Fort Jackson with access to Interstates 77 and 20. The 109-room property was renovated to include brighter guestrooms, upgraded technology and redesigned shared spaces, including the breakfast area.

Maya Hotels plans to continue investing across its Carolinas portfolio, with a full renovation of Courtyard Charlotte Gastonia scheduled for later this year.
