Hyatt Centric Delfina Santa Monica has completed a $16 million renovation that updated guestrooms, meeting space and food & beverage venues at the 315-room hotel.
The multiphase project began in 2024 and concluded this fall, reworking interior design, public areas and event facilities designed to reflect a contemporary coastal aesthetic. The renovation was designed by Waldrop + Nichols Studio and incorporates a color palette and materials inspired by the Southern California coastline.
"This transformation represents our commitment to creating spaces where guests don't just stay—they connect, recharge, and find inspiration," Shawn Holliday, General Manager of Hyatt Centric Delfina Santa Monica, said in a statement. "From the busy executive seeking a refreshed oceanside retreat to couples celebrating life's milestones against our iconic coastal backdrop, every element has been thoughtfully designed to deliver experiences that are both meaningful and memorable."
The hotel—operating under the Hyatt Centric brand—is close to Santa Monica’s beaches, Pier and downtown amenities. All 315 guestrooms were redesigned and now have updated furnishings, modern finishes and private balconies with views of the ocean, mountains, city or pool. Seven Sunset Suites were added, each offering a private ocean-view balcony with a whirlpool hot tub.
The renovation also encompassed approximately 15,000 square feet of meeting and event space across 11 venues. Enhancements include the 4,526-square-foot Delfina Ballroom, a rooftop venue with views of the Pacific Ocean and Santa Monica Mountains and capacity for up to 400 guests. Additional spaces include Sandbox, a 500-square-foot mezzanine-level venue designed for informal meetings and team activities, featuring games, workstations and a bar.
As part of the repositioning, the hotel introduced Coastal Harvest Bar & Kitchen, an all-day restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner with a menu focused on California-inspired cuisine using locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant and adjacent lounge are open to hotel guests and the local community.
Public areas, including the lobby, were reimagined with open layouts, organic forms and ocean-influenced textures intended to support flexible use for working, socializing or informal meetings. Additional amenities include a heated saltwater pool, fitness center and complimentary beach cruiser bicycles.
