Grand Hyatt DFW Airport—located inside Terminal D at the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport—has completed its full-hotel renovation, which began in July and coincided with the property’s 20th anniversary.
During the $34 million, multi-phased renovation, Grand Hyatt DFW increased the number of guestrooms and suites from 298 to 315. The hotel’s new guestrooms, restaurant and meeting and event spaces are now fully open.
“The complete hotel transformation allows us to give back to the travelers and members of the community that supported us during the last two decades,” Jeff Babcock, general manager of Grand Hyatt DFW, said in a statement. “The entire renovation of the property solidifies our legacy as the premier hotel and event center supporting the international airport and connecting travelers to the Dallas Fort Worth culture and community.”
“The transformation process has allowed us to create more refined accommodations for international and domestic travelers, enhanced culinary experiences for guests and local residents and modernized conference and event spaces for meetings and groups,” added Ripton Melhado, VP, field operations, Hyatt.
The guestrooms include signature Hyatt Grand beds with stitched leather headboards and integrated lighting. Each guestroom and suite includes large HD flat-screen televisions and new charging ports, as well as integrated technology solutions such as occupancy thermostats, enhanced lighting controls and automatic blackout sheers and shades. The renewed bathrooms have enlarged vanities, showers and tubs.
The reimagined Grand Met restaurant is designed to have a relaxing atmosphere, while the Grand Met Lounge includes cocktail and wine menus and culinary favorites.
The updated 20,000 square feet of meeting and event space includes a top-floor executive boardroom and an indoor/outdoor rooftop flight-deck event space overlooking the airport runways. A renovated 6,600 square foot ballroom is also a key component of the updated space.
The hotel lobby—which features a new aeronautical design—was updated with marble tile flooring, wooden paneling and artwork created by local artists. The updated fitness center, which includes Peloton bicycles, is now located on the first floor of the hotel.
