The Courtyard Detroit Downtown hotel has completed a renovations to both interior and exterior spaces. Owned by Bedrock and operated by Marriott International, the 260-room hotel is inside the Millender Center that connects to the Renaissance Center, Millender Center Detroit People Mover station and the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center via an enclosed skyway.
The hotel has an indoor pool, sauna and upgraded fitness amenities unique to the property. The hotel now has a COR fitness center that includes locker rooms, a cardio center overlooking the city and the Detroit River, a yoga studio as well as free weights.
For business travelers, the hotel has new ergonomic workspaces to complement existing spaces. The event area now has individual breakout rooms, mid-sized meeting rooms and large conference rooms. All spaces have NodesNow, an all-in-one meeting ecosystem that includes 86” 4K display projection screens with multi-touch interface.
Additionally, the exterior of the hotel has undergone significant changes, including enhanced landscaping designs around the hotel entryways and the rooftop.
The renovations were led by The Gettys Group, the project architect was Detroit-based Neumann/Smith Architecture and the general contractor was Albert M. Higley Co., which has an office in Detroit. A formal ribbon-cutting ceremony is slated for summer 2024.
