Costa Rica's Hotel Belmar unveils renovations and redesign

Carbon-neutral Hotel Belmar in Costa Rica has unveiled its room renovations.

Local designers with Costa Rica’s NAAS Interior Culture led the project with a subtle balance between contemporary design and the hotel’s forest surroundings. Rooms have natural materials, such as wood, and a palette of subdued colors. Nearly all of the ecolodge’s 26 rooms were renovated.

Midcentury-modern elements and furniture provide clean lines and functionality to each room. Textures and patterns on velvet and natural fibers add a layer of modernity to the renovated rooms. According to the property, materials chosen were sourced responsibly and selected for their low environmental impact. This includes the use of sustainable wood, low VOC paints and organic fabrics that contribute to a healthier indoor environment. The design team integrated local art and craftsmanship throughout the hotel.

“We are excited to collaborate with NAAS to evolve the aesthetics of Hotel Belmar’s rooms and interiors. Preserving our historical features and reflecting the cultural values of our surrounding community are paramount, even as we elevate the overall guest experience," Hotel Belmar Managing Director Pedro Belmar said in a statement. "This partnership is perfectly aligned with our commitment to thoughtful design processes that honor organic growth and fluid evolution. We are delighted to inspire a design that captures our vision of sustainability, ensuring every enhancement supports our long-standing dedication to environmental stewardship.”
