Aloft Tampa Downtown completes $5 million renovation

Newbond Holdings and HEI Hotels & Resorts have completed a comprehensive renovation of the Aloft Tampa Downtown.

The $5 million renovation—led by Dallas-based Studio 11 Design—enhances key areas throughout the hotel, including redesigned guestrooms, updated public spaces and refreshed social areas. The Florida hotel—which is managed by Norwalk, Conn.-based HEI Hotels & Resorts—is located near Tampa Riverwalk and Tampa Convention Center.

“This renovation is a strategic reinvestment in one of the most dynamic hospitality markets,” Neil Luthra, founding partner at New York-based property owner Newbond Holdings, said in a statement. “By thoughtfully upgrading the property, we’re enhancing the guest experience while reinforcing our long-term commitment to Tampa’s continued growth story.”

“We wanted to create a space that not only feels fresh and contemporary, but also captures the spirit of Tampa—energetic, welcoming and forward-thinking. The updates allow us to better serve our guests while elevating every aspect of their stay,” added Michelle Hontz, general manager of the hotel.

Guestrooms now feature updated furnishings and enhanced technology, while public spaces were reimagined to feel more open and social, supporting the signature lifestyle atmosphere of the Aloft Hotels brand. The renovation also enhances gathering spaces that cater to group travel, meetings and social events, including updates to Re:Fuel, the hotel’s grab-and-go café.

The hotel’s connection to the local community is designed to be reinforced through its WXYZ Bar, a social venue offering cocktails, signature food and local entertainment. The property regularly hosts weekly activations in its public spaces, including music and art from local performers.
