The Alexander joins Marriott’s Autograph Collection after redo

The Alexander—a boutique hotel in downtown Indianapolis—has joined Marriott Bonvoy’s Autograph Collection following the completion of a propertywide renovation.

The multimillion-dollar redo encompassed all 209 guestrooms and 16,500 square feet of meeting and event space. The hotel operates as a contemporary art museum and is home to a collection curated by the Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields. Integrated throughout public spaces, guestrooms and meeting areas, the collection positions art as a defining element of the guest experience.

The renovation extends the artistic experience into every guestroom, where newly commissioned works further expand the Newfields-curated collection, designed to pair updated finishes and redesigned bathrooms with a deeper sense of place.

The hotel’s signature restaurant, Plat 99, has also been reimagined as a day-to-night social lounge. Under the direction of Chef Eli Laidlaw, the redesigned layout is designed to support everything from casual coffee meetings to evening cocktails.

Positioned along the Cultural Trail in downtown Indianapolis, the hotel is near Fountain Square and within walking distance of the Indiana Convention Center, Lucas Oil Stadium and Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
