Coury Hospitality has expanded its national portfolio with management appointments at The RIVVY, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel by Marriott in Chicago, and Marriott Tacoma Downtown in Tacoma, Wash.
Selected by ACORE Capital to manage both properties, Coury Hospitality will oversee hotel operations, guest experience, food and beverage, events, sales and marketing, revenue strategy and team development.
The appointments build on Coury Hospitality’s four decades of hotel ownership and operating experience, as well as its experience managing branded and independent hotels. The company said it will work with ACORE Capital and on-property teams to strengthen each hotel’s market position and support long-term performance.
“We are thrilled to welcome THE RIVVY and Marriott Tacoma Downtown to the Coury Hospitality portfolio,” Andrew Casperson, president of Coury Hospitality, said in a statement. “Each hotel has a distinct identity and an important place within its community. We look forward to working alongside ACORE Capital and the on-property teams to build on those strengths, elevate the guest experience and create even more reasons for travelers and locals to return.”
Located in Chicago’s River North neighborhood, THE RIVVY recently completed its conversion from the former Hotel 55 into a 297-guestroom boutique hotel inspired by the city’s culture and creative spirit. The property includes 8,187 square feet of meeting and event space across eight rooms and is home to Lure Fishbar, a seafood restaurant.
Marriott Tacoma Downtown is a 304-guestroom full-service hotel connected to the Greater Tacoma Convention Center. The property has 25,000 square feet of meeting space, The Greatroom restaurant and bar, an M Club lounge and a rooftop pool and sun deck with views of downtown Tacoma, the waterfront and Mount Rainier.
“Coury Hospitality’s proven results, operational expertise and extensive experience with Marriott made them a natural fit to manage these properties,” said David Dancer of ACORE Capital. “The Coury team identifies opportunities to enhance performance while still preserving what makes each hotel distinctive. We are confident our partnership with Coury brings the leadership and market-specific approach needed to support the continued success of both properties.”
