Young Professionals: What is the best thing about your work environment?

A good work environment is crucial in hospitality. It directly impacts employee satisfaction, productivity and overall well-being. It can promote collaboration, creativity and efficiency while reducing stress and turnover. When employees feel valued and supported, they are more engaged, motivated and committed to achieving organizational goals according to Hotel Management’s most recent class of Thirty Under 30 award winners.

Hotel Management Young Professionals is designed specifically for hospitality professionals within the first decade of the careers. During the year, we look back on our Thirty Under 30 class for their takes on what's going on in hospitality. This is sponsored by DIRECTV HOSPITALITY

The most appealing aspect of my work environment is the opportunity to collaborate with some of the most creative minds in the industry, including our Founder and CEO Andrew Zobler. As CIO at Sydell Group, I've focused on strategic initiatives, such as orchestrating a significant partnership with Hilton to expand NoMad into a global luxury-lifestyle brand. Being part of the Hilton family, with hundreds of wonderful new colleagues, and having grown up in a family who owns and operates Hilton hotels, adds a special touch. I am excited to work with these exceptional colleagues to position NoMad at the forefront of luxury-lifestyle hospitality worldwide.

The people—our teammates, community partners and guests—are undoubtedly what make my workplace so incredible. Hospitality operates beyond the traditional 9 to 5 job, and it is the people I spend the early mornings, late nights and weekend shifts with that fill every memory with light and laughter. Co-workers across departments have become confidants and mentors, vendors have become trusted partners, and recognition from return guests make for a delightful surprise on an off day. Our mission at Virgin Hotels is to ensure everyone leaves feeling better—including our teammates—and I am fortunate to carry that responsibility each and every workday.
