CoralTree Hospitality adds Outbound Mammoth in Mammoth Lakes, Calif. to its management portfolio. The 184-room resort is located in the Sierra Mountains.
“Our company’s roots are in managing year-round mountain resorts like Outbound Mammoth,” Tom Luersen, president of CoralTree Hospitality, said in a statement. “This property is an exciting addition to our management portfolio. Outbound Mammoth is located in an iconic destination with access to all of the amazing activities the Sierra Nevada Mountains have to offer. The resort has a storied history and recently was renovated to welcome a new era of guests.”
The property, which is part of the four-property Outbound hotels, recently completed a multiyear renovation designed to preserve some of the resort’s classic features while updating. Outbound Mammoth has a wide range of lodging options from newly renovated guestrooms to 19 chalets that offer multiple rooms, dining areas and full kitchens for larger groups. There are 10 newly built cozy studio cabins and a selection of guest villa accommodations.
Outbound Mammoth has three casual food and beverage options. Bar Sierra is the property’s newest restaurant that brings a California twist to barbecue comfort food. The Café Crepe food truck offers sweet and savory crepes for breakfast, lunch and dessert. Guests also can enjoy relaxing and unwinding after a day of play in the mountain at the Lobby Wine Bar. The resort has an extensive list of year-round amenities including an outdoor pool and hot tub, four fire pits, as well as a fitness center with sauna and steam room.
In the winter, the resort has a free mountain shuttle for easy access to more than 3,500 acres of skiable terrain at Mammoth Mountain. Outbound Mammoth also offers discount ski and snowboard rentals through a partnership with Black Tie Ski Rentals, which provides on-site rental delivery and fittings. In the summer, guests can have 24-hour rentals of lightweight, packable Oru Kayaks to explore many of the lakes in the surrounding area.
