Two management companies have added new hotels in two states to their portfolios.
Texas
Management company Columbia Hospitality has expanded into Texas with the signing of the Colton House Hotel in Austin, Texas. Columbia Hospitality will both manage and operate the property.
Colton House Hotel accommodations range from studios to three-bedroom units, many of which have kitchens and washer/dryers in-unit. The dog-friendly property also has a fitness center, an outdoor pool with private daybeds and chaise lounges, a lawn for picnics and a kid’s area with games and toys.
Virginia
Williamsburg, Va.-based Newport Hospitality Group has added the Best Western Williamsburg Historic District to its portfolio of managed hotels. The property has 140 keys and 3,860 square feet of meeting space half a mile from Colonial Williamsburg and 3.5 miles from Busch Gardens. Public spaces include a full-service onsite Mexican restaurant, a year-round pool with a retractable roof, a fitness center and pet-friendly facilities.
Plans are in progress for a minor property improvement plan to showcase the hotel’s offerings and amenities. “Our strategy involves further development of the leisure, tour group, and social events market while solidifying our partnership with the local community,” Brittany Alger, regional director of sales at Newport Hospitality Group, said in a statement.
