Westport Hospitality announced the opening of The Harborvale, Autograph Collection, a 161-room lakeside hotel scheduled to debut in June on Lake Champlain.
The Burlington, Vt., property will join Marriott Bonvoy’s Autograph Collection portfolio of independent hotels. Developed by Jay Canning and Chuck DesLauriers and owned by local investors operating as Burlington Harbor Hotel Group, the hotel will be managed by Westport Hospitality, which also operates Hotel Vermont.
“We've been part of this city's hospitality story for a long time, and this feels like the chapter we've been building toward,” Hans van Wees, managing director of Westport Hospitality, said in a statement. “Our vision was to capture the nostalgia of lake life and translate it into a world-class experience.”
The Harborvale will have three event venues with floor-to-ceiling windows, natural light and interiors inspired by the surrounding landscape. The hotel will offer more than 3,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including an outdoor terrace overlooking Lake Champlain. The spaces are designed to accommodate meetings, microweddings, social gatherings and events for up to 125 guests.
