Following a repositioning, Sonesta International Hotels Corporation has unveiled the debut of the Sonesta Select Statesville in North Carolina.
The 132-room hotel—which is located near 1-77 and I-40—recently underwent a full renovation of public spaces and guestrooms. The newly opened property is owned and operated by Tika Shah of Shrina, which also owns and manages the Ramada by Wyndham Statesville.
Sonesta Select is an upscale, focused-service hotel brand designed to offer a neighborhood vibe, according to the Newton, Mass.-based franchisor.
“We are thrilled to open the Sonesta Select Statesville, marking Sonesta Select’s fourth market entry in North Carolina,” Keith Pierce, Sonesta’s EVP and president of franchise & development, said in a statement. “Located between Charlotte and Greensboro, we look forward to welcoming travelers to Statesville’s booming craft brewery scene, outdoor recreation and annual Carolina BalloonFest.”
