Sonesta International Hotels Corp. has debuted two Red Lion Inn & Suites by Sonesta properties, as part of an effort to expand the brand’s footprint in secondary and tertiary markets across the U.S.
The 41-room, midscale interior-corridor Red Lion Inn & Suites Adairsville is on Kortlyn Place NW, positioned between Atlanta and Chattanooga, Tenn.
“We are excited to open Red Lion Inn & Suites Adairsville, a town known for its history and proximity to outdoor recreation,” Keith Pierce, Sonesta’s EVP and president of franchise & development, said in a statement. “The iconic Red Lion Hotels, Inns & Suites by Sonesta brand continues to expand across the United States with a specialized focus on secondary and tertiary markets with a strong tie to state and national parks and outdoor activities.”
The company also opened the Red Lion Inn & Suites Junction City, Kan. The 81-room, midscale exterior-corridor property is located on South Washington Street. The Junction City hotel is the fourth Sonesta-branded property with the same ownership group.
“The opening of Red Lion Inn & Suites Junction City is reflective of a broader industry demand for midscale, affordable properties in secondary and tertiary markets,” added Pierce.
