Developed as a sister concept to nearby El Ray Court, Hotel Glorieta has opened as a newly reimagined leisure resort on a hilltop above downtown Santa Fe.
Now owned by Bullwhip Capital and JMI Realty, the 128-room property was formerly The Lodge at Santa Fe, originally built in 1976. The repositioned hotel has a music venue, bar and lounge, outdoor pool and a hot tub
“Santa Fe has long inspired us with its depth of culture, history and creative spirit,” Jeff Burns, partner at Bullwhip Capital, said in a statement. “With Hotel Glorieta, we’re honored to grow in a city where every street tells a story, and to create a place that invites both travelers and locals to experience that narrative in a thoughtful and lasting way.”
With interiors by design firm French & French Interiors, every aspect of the property has been transformed to reflect a modern interpretation of Santa Fe style, according to the company. Warm wood tones and contemporary silhouettes are featured in the lobby, which also houses a curated retail shop offering branded merchandise, vintage-inspired tees, local artisan wares and travel essentials.
Each of the 128 guestrooms and suites retains original architectural elements, including black vigas and rough-hewn ceiling beams. Modern Southwestern rugs and restored pine furniture are designed to blend into a moody palette of smoky green walls in standard rooms and deep taupe tones in suites. Many suites have private balconies with mountain views, wood-burning fireplaces, jetted tubs, four-poster king beds and wet bars. Select suites have casita-style entrances separate from the main building.
Located near the city’s downtown, Hotel Glorieta is close to cultural landmarks including the Loretto Chapel, Santa Fe Opera and Santa Fe Plaza, as well as the city’s arts and dining scene. The hotel’s name is inspired by the surrounding landscape and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, which the property overlooks and connects to directly.
