Vista Host has opened the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Orange Beach Gulf Shores, a 120-suite property along Alabama’s Gulf Coast.
The hotel was developed by Eliot and Stuart Cohen of Cohen Investments and is managed by Vista Host, which recently named the hotel’s leadership team. Matthew Sutherland has been appointed general manager, bringing more than 20 years of hospitality experience, while Cole Walker, who was most recently with Visit Nashville, joins as sales manager.
“This opening reflects our approach to hospitality—thoughtful design paired with a genuine connection to the community,” Evan Studer, CEO of Vista Host, said in a statement. “Working with Cohen Investments, we focused on creating a hotel that feels rooted in the coastal environment while supporting the local area.”
The SpringHill Suites features oversized suites with defined living, working and sleeping areas, designed to accommodate longer stays. Each suite includes plush bedding, a sofa sleeper and flexible space. Public areas carry a bright, coastal-inspired aesthetic designed to connect guestrooms with shared gathering spaces, while a resort-style pool serves as a central amenity outside.
Food and beverage offerings center on Salt & Sips, a poolside bistro featuring light fare and cocktails. Meeting and event space includes the 1,080-square-foot Blue Heron Room, designed for small meetings and group gatherings. Additional amenities include complimentary daily breakfast, Wi-Fi, a 24-hour market, guest laundry facilities and a fitness center.
