Downtown Atlanta gets new Moxy hotel

Moxy Atlanta Downtown has opened near Centennial Olympic Park, bringing the Marriott boutique brand to the city’s entertainment district.

Developed by Nexera Capital and managed by Dothan, Ala.-based LBA Hospitality, the hotel aims to become a new social hub in Atlanta’s downtown hospitality scene. The 183-room property—which is owned by Cleveland, Tenn.-based Emerge Hospitality Group—is close to major attractions including Mercedes-Benz Stadium, State Farm Arena, Georgia Aquarium and World of Coca-Cola.

“Atlanta is a city that knows how to have fun, and this hotel was built with that same spirit,” Sachin Patel, president and CEO of Emerge Hospitality Group, said in a statement.

Guestrooms feature modern amenities including plush bedding, spa-inspired walk-in showers, integrated streaming technology, workspaces and built-in USB ports. Music culture influences the design, with lyric-lined hallways and artwork inspired by cassette tapes and iconic performers.

The hotel’s lobby centers around Bar Moxy, where guests check in with a complimentary welcome drink while the space doubles as a social hub for work and play. Upstairs, the Jagger Suite rooftop lounge features skyline views, The Powder Room—a speakeasy-style bar with retro-futuristic design—is hidden within the hotel.

The property also marks the first East Coast location for Eggslut, serving its signature egg sandwiches, burgers and coffee throughout the day.
