Motto by Hilton opens hotel in Guadalajara Historic Center

Hilton has opened Motto by Hilton Guadalajara Centro Historico, a 154-room hotel in Guadalajara’s historic center representing the brand’s second hotel in Mexico.

The property is owned and developed by Grupo Megaterra and occupies a restored 1950s Art Deco building. The building was originally designed by Agustín Acevedo as a residential apartment building and has been converted into a hotel. The property is located one block from Plaza Fundadores and within walking distance of Teatro Degollado, Instituto Cultural Cabañas, Guadalajara Cathedral and San Juan Market.

“Guadalajara is a city defined by culture, creativity and energy, making it a natural fit for the Motto brand,” Maxime Verstraete, VP, brand management, Caribbean and Latin America, Hilton, said in a statement. “With this opening, we are offering travelers a new way to experience the city through thoughtfully designed spaces, flexible accommodations and a stay that feels connected to the neighborhood around them.”

The 154 guestrooms has multifunctional furniture and flexible configurations. The hotel has 69 connecting rooms, with the ability to connect as many as three rooms. The property also uses Hilton’s Confirmed Connecting Room technology.

Food-and-beverage outlets include La BienQuerida, a full-service restaurant offering Mexican-inspired dishes and beverages, and Doña Elvira, a café serving Mexican breads and artisanal coffee.

Hilton currently has more than 300 hotels across the Caribbean and Latin America and a development pipeline of more than 150 properties in the region.
