McKibbon Hospitality opens new Florida AC Hotel by Marriott

The AC Hotel St. Augustine, Fla., has opened in America’s oldest city.

The 142-room property was developed by Asante Asset Management and is operated by McKibbon Hospitality under the AC Hotels by Marriott brand. Located along Riberia Street on the San Sebastian River, the four-story hotel provides access to top local attractions, including Castillo de San Marcos National Monument, Flagler College and nearby dining and entertainment venues. The property also features access to a new on-site marina.

“The opening of AC Hotel St. Augustine marks a significant milestone for our team and for the city itself,” Alhadi Abdulhussein, owner and developer, Asante Asset Management, said in a statement. “This project reflects our commitment to creating exceptional spaces that celebrate both culture and community.”

BCA Studios led architectural design for the project, while EDGEiD directed interiors designed to balance the AC Hotels brand’s European aesthetic with the textures and tones of coastal Florida. The design incorporates natural light, coquina-inspired materials and a neutral palette that aims to reflect the region’s maritime character.

“Designing the AC Hotel St. Augustine was about capturing the timeless charm of the city through a modern lens,” said Kari Bennett, founder and CEO of EDGEiD. “We wanted guests to feel both inspired and at ease surrounded by textures, colors and light that reflect the coastal spirit and rich cultural history of St. Augustine.”

Guest amenities include the AC Lounge & Kitchen—serving curated menu items, Spanish wines and crafted cocktails—as well as a 24-hour fitness center, an outdoor lounge pool and 1,500 sq. feet of flexible meeting and event space.
