Marcus Hotels & Resorts has debuted The Marc Hotel, a converted independent property in downtown Milwaukee.
The hotel—which is located in the Wisconsin city’s central business district—occupies the former west wing of Hilton Milwaukee and is directly connected to the Baird Center convention complex via a skywalk. The 175-room property also offers access to a covered parking structure and is physically connected to Hilton Milwaukee, providing guests with access to the adjacent hotel’s dining outlets and more than 34,000 square-feet of meeting and event space.
“The Marc Hotel’s prime location, well-appointed rooms, convenient workspaces and adjacent restaurants and amenities will offer convention and other guests the comfort and convenience they crave,” Michael Evans, president of Marcus Hotels & Resorts, a division of Milwaukee, Wis.-based The Marcus Corporation, said in a statement. “This is one of the busiest and most vibrant areas of the city, and we are pleased to offer our guests another lodging option in downtown Milwaukee.”
The Marc Hotel’s name references Marcus Corporation’s hospitality history in Milwaukee. In 1972, the company acquired the former Schroeder Hotel and renamed it the Marc Plaza Hotel. The property was rebranded under the Hilton flag in 1995, and the Marc name now returns as the west wing reopens as a stand-alone hotel.
The hotel features 175 guestrooms and suites designed to accommodate both short-term and extended stays. Standard accommodations include high-thread-count linens, dedicated workstations, ample lighting, complimentary Wi-Fi, mini refrigerators and coffee makers. Bathrooms are finished with marble countertops and mirrors with integrated lighting.
