Kimpton—part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury and lifestyle portfolio—has opened Kimpton Mirador Pacific Grove, a 99-room boutique hotel located on California’s Monterey Peninsula.
Kimpton Mirador Pacific Grove is the latest addition to Kimpton’s global portfolio, joining recent openings in Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Riyadh. Located approximately half a mile from the Pacific Ocean, the hotel is located near local landmarks including Monarch Grove Sanctuary and Point Pinos Lighthouse.
“The doors are open, and it’s incredibly exciting to see guests and locals experiencing the hotel for the first time,” Julia Chaland, general manager of Kimpton Mirador Pacific Grove, said in a statement. “We’ve created a place where Pacific Grove’s history and spirit meet modern luxury. Watching the hotel come to life has been a dream, and we’re thrilled to officially welcome the community inside.”
The property draws architectural influence from the area’s Spanish Revival heritage, with terra cotta rooflines, arched openings and hand-plastered walls. Interior design was led by San Francisco, Calif.-based studio Narrative. Guestrooms and suites are spread across four stories with many rooms featuring private balconies, while select suites include fireplaces. Artwork throughout the hotel highlights work by regional artists.
Kimpton Mirador Pacific Grove includes a central courtyard with fire features, a fitness studio and flexible meeting and event space. Guest amenities include in-room yoga mats and wellness kits, pet-friendly accommodations and complimentary bicycles. The hotel also offers wellness programming in partnership with Monterey Bay Moves, including yoga and fitness sessions.
The hotel opening coincides with the debut of The Caledonian, the on-site restaurant led by chef Aaron Rayor. The restaurant features a modern American menu emphasizing seasonal and locally sourced ingredients.
