Hilton plans two Times Square openings for August

Hilton is set to open two notable hotels in New York City’s Times Square neighborhood in August, adding a number of guestrooms to the company’s portfolio in a prime market.

A New Motto

The 400-room Motto by Hilton New York City Times Square will be the second hotel from the Motto by Hilton brand in New York City. The 48th Street property is within walking distance of 41 Broadway theaters and close to The Metropolitan Museum of Art, MoMA and The Guggenheim, in addition to Radio City Music Hall and Rockefeller Center. 

Art selected by contemporary artists reimagines the lines and forms of 1920s fashion for the 2020s. Communal spaces combine the rhythm of the archways and corners with an intentional flow of welcoming spaces from The Commons to the arched lobby bar and into the on-property restaurant. The property's signature restaurant, The Alderman, will reimagine New York City diner.

Inspired by combining 1920s New York City style and design with modern lines and architectural elements, the hotel’s guestrooms will have soft, neutral textures along with dynamic storage and technology features. Headboards behind the beds will evoke the city skyline with curves and corners that reflect the architectural evolution of the city. The guestrooms are configured for connection, so guests can book up to six adjoining rooms together. Sleeping setups include a queen bed with a twin bunk above, a flexible queen Murphy bed and standard queen options. Bathrooms have illuminated vanities and full-size mirrors.

Motto by Hilton Times Square is the sixth  Motto by Hilton to open since the brand launched in 2018, joining Motto by Hilton New York City Chelsea,  Motto by Hilton Washington D.C. City Center, Motto by Hilton Philadelphia Rittenhouse Square, Motto by Hilton Tulum (Mexico) and Motto by Hilton Rotterdam (Netherlands) Blaak. Upcoming properties are slated for Cusco, Peru; Hong Kong; Glasgow, Scotland; Poland; and Atlanta.

The Debut Tempo

Hilton’s new Tempo lifestyle brand will also launch in August with the 661-room Tempo by Hilton Times Square. This 36-floor lifestyle hotel will be part of the upcoming TSX Broadway tower with retail and a range of entertainment spaces.

Of its guestrooms, 31 have close-up views of the Times Square Ball and the nine wellness rooms have a Peloton bike, yoga mat and Therabody products. Each of the hotel’s rooms have a signature Get Ready Zone and bathrooms with a Bluetooth mirror. The guestrooms were designed with natural tones of light wood and blue coupled with touches of brass and leather. Lighting automatically turns on upon entry and dims at sunset. 

The hotel has a signature restaurant, Highball, which transitions into a cocktail lounge in the evenings.
