Maya Hotels has opened a Hilton Garden Inn in the Steele Creek area of Charlotte, N.C., near the Charlotte Premium Outlets and the River District.
Maya Hotels developed and will manage the six-story, 124-room Hilton Garden Inn Steele Creek Charlotte. The company's portfolio already includes 10 hotels in the Charlotte metropolitan area. The opening of the hotel comes as development continues in Steele Creek, including the nearby River District, a master-planned community along the Catawba River that is adding residential, commercial and recreational development to the area.
The property is approximately 8 miles from Charlotte Douglas International Airport. Charlotte Premium Outlets is adjacent to the hotel, while Lake Wylie, McDowell Nature Preserve, RiverGate and Carowinds Amusement Park are within driving distance.
“We saw an opportunity to make a long-term investment in Steele Creek at a location with an exceptional combination of connectivity, growth and activity,” Parimal Thakor, co-CEO of Charlotte, NC-based Maya Hotels, said in a statement.
The hotel includes 124 guestrooms, 3,787 sq.-feet of meeting and event space, the Garden Grille and Bar, a 1,129 sq.-foot fitness center and an outdoor pool. The meeting space is divided among five rooms and is designed for business meetings, group functions and social events.
The fitness center includes cardio, strength and functional training areas. Equipment includes treadmills, an elliptical, ClimbMill, rower, Peloton bike, dumbbells, a Smith machine, leg press and other strength and functional training equipment.
The property also will include Dear Charlotte, a standalone bar, restaurant and event space on the top floor. The venue is expected to open in late fall and will serve craft cocktails, artisan pizzas and shareable plates.
