Gottardo Hotels & Resorts has expanded its hospitality campus in Aurora, Ontario, with the opening of the 131-suite Staybridge Suites Aurora East by IHG.
The new property adds an extended-stay hotel to a campus that already includes the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Aurora and The Royale Conference Centre. The Staybridge Suites Aurora East is the latest phase of Concord, Ontario-based Gottardo's hospitality development strategy, complementing its existing hotel and event operations with an extended-stay product under the IHG Hotels & Resorts portfolio.
According to Gottardo, the new hotel expands its presence in Aurora's commercial corridor while allowing the company to serve a wider range of traveler segments and leverage the adjacent conference center for meetings, weddings and other events.
“This opening represents an exciting new chapter for our hospitality campus,” Aldo Gottardo, founder of Gottardo Hotels & Resorts, said in a statement. “By introducing Staybridge Suites alongside our Holiday Inn Express & Suites and The Royale Conference Centre, we're able to offer guests additional lodging options while creating a more complete destination for business travelers, extended-stay guests and event attendees."
The new Staybridge Suites features 125 studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites with full kitchens and workspaces. Guests also have access to complimentary breakfast, evening socials on select nights, a fitness center, guest laundry, outdoor gathering areas and meeting space. The Valentino Lobby Bar, meanwhile, offers cocktails, wine, local craft beer and light fare.
