Following a $1 billion renovation, Pier Sixty-Six will open this fall. Developed by Tavistock Development Company and managed by CoralTree Hospitality, the 32-acre waterfront resort is located on the Intracoastal Waterway. An spot in Fort Lauderdale’s skyline for more than 60 years and the original fueling dock for Phillips 66 Petroleum, the resort is being redeveloped as a luxury destination.
Pier Sixty-Six will open with 325 rooms and suites, with scenic outdoor balconies with waterfront views. The grounds have a blend of aquatic recreations, a 13,000 square-foot fitness and spa, and 12 culinary venues including restaurants along the waterfront promenade and a 17th-floor observation deck showing 360-degree panoramic views of the city and Atlantic Ocean.
“As Fort Lauderdale continues to firmly establish itself as a thriving destination for discerning travelers, it was only fitting to breathe new life into the Pier Sixty-Six while preserving its storied past and staying rooted in our captivating location,” VP and Managing Director Colm O'Callaghan said in a statement. “We designed the resort to introduce an entirely new hospitality category in South Florida while offering exceptional service paired with a wide range of amenities."
The resort complex has more than 40,000 square feet of new indoor and outdoor venue selections. With its debut, the resort will be among the largest resort event spaces in Fort Lauderdale and one of the few resort destinations in Broward County with such an array of meeting and event space. A premier destination for boating enthusiasts and host site for the renowned Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, the resort’s superyacht marina is the largest in the city, with 164 deepwater slips for yachts up to 400 feet and recreational activities from fishing charters and diving excursions to kayaking.
