Newport Hospitality Group will host its 2026 Leadership Retreat in Myrtle Beach, S.C., from April 13–16 at the Ellie Resort. The annual event will bring together hotel leaders, industry experts and key partners for several days of learning, collaboration and connection focused on strengthening both professional performance and personal growth, according to the Williamsburg, Va.-based hotel operator.
“The theme of this year’s event, Living Hospitality, reflects Newport’s belief that hospitality is not simply a service model, but a daily commitment to guests, colleagues and partners,” CEO Andrew Carey said in a statement. “It embodies our focus on cultivating a people-first culture, delivering exceptional guest experiences and building meaningful relationships across every touchpoint of the business. We designed this event to balance education with rejuvenation so attendees leave inspired and equipped with practical tools to succeed.”
The Leadership Retreat is designed to serves as a cornerstone of Newport’s ongoing commitment to development and will include general sessions, role-specific breakouts and hands-on experiences.
Stuart Butler, president of Visit Myrtle Beach, will open the retreat with “Scrappy Always Wins,” sharing insights on how hotel leaders can remain grounded, optimistic and effective in times of constant change.
Other industry speakers include Leora Halpern Lanz of the Boston University School of Hospitality Administration; Michael Faricy of Lighthouse; Bill DeForrest, former CEO of Spire Hospitality; Cindy Estis Green and Joanna Tu of Kalibri Labs; and Nate Smith and Jason Lee of Travel Media Group.
The retreat will conclude with remarks from Newport leadership reinforcing the company’s commitment to culture, leadership and the practice of Living Hospitality.
