NEWH launches third annual Martha’s Mentors program

The Network of Executive Women in Hospitality is now accepting applications for its third annual Martha’s Mentors program, a 10-month initiative aimed at connecting emerging hospitality professionals with experienced leaders.

The program is named in honor of Martha Tillim (Dec. 2, 1942 – June 17, 2023), an industry veteran, mentor and past board member of NEWH’s Washington, D.C., Chapter. Early-career professionals accepted into the program are paired with accomplished mentors who have excelled in their field.

Through monthly 70-minute sessions, mentor-mentee pairs focus on career advancement, leadership skills, industry knowledge and networking. Mentees are also encouraged to volunteer 10 hours with NEWH during the mentorship year to reinforce a spirit of service and community engagement.

Applications are open through Nov. 15, 2025, for mentees who are active NEWH members with fewer than five years of professional experience. Candidates are selected based on "passion, commitment and potential for growth." Established professionals are also invited to apply as mentors.

“The Martha’s Mentors Program is a cornerstone of NEWH’s mission,” Chris Tucker, CEO of NEWH, said in a statement. “It empowers early-career professionals with guidance, industry insights, and networking opportunities while honoring Martha Tillim’s incredible legacy of mentorship and leadership. We’re proud to help foster meaningful connections that build the next generation of hospitality leaders.”
